Better Future’s goal is to make dreams come true and the mobile academy could be part of that. The mobile academy is a new initiative next to the current leadership, social entrepreneurship and sustainable development programs of Better Future. They launched the concept of the so called Ubuntu Leadership Academy (ULA), to coach and train most promising young leaders in the private, public and civil society in rural Africa. The target group of the ULA contains potential young leaders from the BoP who has little or no access to high quality leadership and entrepreneurship trainings. To reach these potential leaders in rural areas a mobile academy is needed. The academy should provide an inspiring learning environment in areas with little infrastructure and facilities.
Within the project, research will be done to get an insight in the different aspects of facilitating the training programs for potential leaders in rural areas. With this information a concept for an innovative stand-alone academy will be designed.

The end result of the project shall be a model of the concept with an implementation plan, both with a strategic and practical focus. A holistic plan shall be provided with a focus on the most innovative aspect of the concept which will be defined during the project.
Better Future heeft als doel om dromen waar te maken; een mobiele universiteit als een extensie van hun huidige leiderschap, ondernemerschap en duurzame ontwikkeling programma’s. Ze hebben het programma, met als huidige naam de Ubuntu Leadership Academy, gestart met als doel om veelbelovende jonge leiders van de private-, publieke en civiel society in ruraal Africa te coachen en te trainen. De focus ligt vooral op de potentiele leiders uit de Base of the Pyramid (BoP) die weinig toegang hebben tot hoogwaardig leiderschap- en ondernemingstrainingen. Om deze potentiële leiders in rurale gebieden te bereiken is een mobiele academie nodig. The academie moet in een rustige maar inspirerende leeromgeving voorzien in de gebieden met weinig infrastructuur en faciliteiten.
Binnen het project zal onderzoek plaats vinden om inzicht te verkrijgen in de mogelijke manieren om het trainingsprogramma voor potentiële leiders in rurale gebieden te faciliteren. Met deze informatie zal een concept voor een innovatieve stand-alone academie ontworpen worden.
